El Txupinazo The festival of San Fermin in Nueva Orleans officially begins with El Txupinazo (pronounced el choo-pee-naht-so), a Friday night pre-party which we promise you is the closest you will get to Spain without crossing the Atlantic!
You will have access to purchase in expensive tapas plates from Barcelona Tapas Cafe, Three Muses, Pamplona Tapas Bar, Rambla, and Vega Tapas Cafe all under a single roof!
El Txupinazo will also feature a Paella competition between restaurants, and presided over by our esteemed judges Ian McNulty (food writer for Gambit Weekly and WWNO 89.9 FM) and Chef/Restauranteur Adolfo Garcia (Rio Mar, La Boca, A Mano, Gusto). Included in the price of the ticket will be a chance to sample all five paellas, as well as multiple desserts!
Ice cold Stella Artois beer, Marques de Caceres wines, fresh Sangria, and the sounds and sights of flamenco troupe Ven Pá Ca will complete the atmosphere, all set in a comfortable and spacious new venue.
For those looking to have a great night before the Encierro (bull run), and meet fellow revelers while enjoying authentic Spanish food and drinks, this is your event. We encourage attendees to dress in festive red and white!
Space is limited, so purchase your tickets below before its too late!
